I took these pictures over a week ago and only just got round to posting them up. This is my Chaos Dragon I've been working on. I figured my Warriors army needed some centre piece models, this is the first.
I struggled with the photos, couldn't quite get the whole thing in the shot.
I will take some better pictures when its painted.
Wow... that looks awesome! Real monumental center piece of army! It must look very fearsome with the paint job on :)
ReplyDeleteThat looks great. It's interesting to see a chaos dragon from the plastic kit. Great work. What colours are you going to use for it?
ReplyDeleteIs that the HE dragon with an extra head or the woodie dragon? Confused ... but that looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteI really like how you replaced the High Elf menhir with the arcane obelisk.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see an up-close of how you managed to join the two necks together.
A great conversion!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like my Ogres may be facing that bad boy over the battlefield of Summer Incursion. I had better think how the Ogres can bring down a dragon.
Thanks for all the comments!
ReplyDeleteI just wish I took more (better) pictures before I undercoated it.
Its all made from the Plastic High Elf Dragon and the extra head/neck is the spare bits from the kit, I also used the Warhammer Ruins and Chaos bits.
To join the extra head I had to clip off the end of the spare tail at an angle, then I pinned it to the body and Blended it together with green stuff.
I had to pin it to the obelisk to.
I'm thinking about painting it classic dragon red, maybe green scales.
The use of the pillar is very well done - have you had to weight the pillar or is it OK with the dragon model leaping off the edge?

Very impressive work, looking forward to seeing some paint on it :)
ReplyDeleteThe balance was good, but I've added some rocks to the base just to make sure.
ReplyDeleteI've started to paint it now, so far just lots of red!
How is the painting progressing? Only a week to go until Summer Incursion!!
ReplyDeleteMark, just finished and about to post some pictures, how your extra ogre units coming along.
